September 2025: Perspective, Patience, and Progress
September’s Shift
Joy isn’t a destination. It’s found along the journey.
September always feels like a season of re-entry: back to school, back to work, back to routine. This year, it’s also been a reminder to prioritize what matters most.
On a personal level, I’ve been navigating the challenge of the “sandwich generation”: supporting aging parents while helping young adult children find their way. It’s a balancing act that brings clarity around time, priorities, and the reason we work so hard.
A recent family health scare reminded me how important it is to time-block not just for business, but for life. If we’re not taking care of ourselves first, we can’t show up for the people who count on us.
Perspective, Patience, and Progress
We’re constantly bombarded by messages about what’s wrong in the world. But whether we’re talking about real estate, investing, parenting, or just surviving September, there’s power in staying grounded and focused on what we can control.
Ask yourself:
Given everything I’ve survived, endured, or overcome, am I still here, growing, and adding value?
If the answer is yes, give yourself credit. You’re doing better than you think.
Ottawa Returning to Normal
The Ottawa market is quietly shifting back to a more balanced, pre-pandemic normal.
Yes, inventory is up. Yes, it feels different. But sales are still happening, especially strategic moves by buyers and sellers who understand that softening prices and longer due-diligence windows can create opportunity.
We’re seeing early signs of a more active fall, especially with possible rate cuts in play.
House Hacking and Multi-Generational Living
Something interesting is happening in housing conversations across Canada:
- Multigenerational housing and house hacking are back in focus.
- Secondary suites and co-living setups are becoming mainstream strategies.
There is no one path to wealth through real estate. Sometimes the unconventional route is the most empowering one.
Real Questions, Real Progress
Lately, more people have been reaching out saying, “Hey, that last newsletter got me thinking…”
That leads to real conversations. There is no such thing as a stupid question in real estate, only unasked ones that lead to missed opportunities.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn’t financial. It’s clarity.
What I’m Reading
If you’re looking to understand money flow and global finance at a deeper level, I’m currently reading The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin.
It’s a fascinating dive into how the banking system works and why it matters.
Final Thought: Small Gains, Big Impact
If your life or financial position improved even 2x or 3x over the next 10 years, would you be happy with that?
If so, great news: that’s realistic and achievable. Start small, take the first step, and let compounding effort do its magic.
